Lausanne à Table celebrates local talent and inspires passion, honouring carefully selected local produce, local dining establishments, and creative flair within the city and surrounding areas. Events range from the Pizz'cycles – pizza cycling events that combine scenic bike rides, a portable pizza and an aperitif, to the Lausanne Beer Celebration in June, where twenty-four exceptional brasseries from all over the world will set up shop in the Sauvabelin canteen to bring the best of Craft Beer to the city.

Here are some of the other events to look forward to this year:

Miam Festival, 27-29 May

A highlight of the Lausanne à Table event series for the past five years, the Miam Festival (translated to Yum Festival) is a must try for street food fans. Over fifty stands and food trucks from the region descend on the Place de la Riponne plaza, bringing their food and drink specialties from all over the world. The crème de la crème of artisans of taste, concerts and free entertainment, all in a friendly and festive atmosphere in the heart of Lausanne.

The Salée au Sucre Trot, 15 May – 28 June

10 bakeries in Lausanne compete in the Salée au Sucre Trot for the title of best salée au sucre, a creamy dessert which is a true emblem of Vaud’s culinary heritage that has been delighting the region’s inhabitants since the early 20th century. With the Trotte de la Salée au Sucre pass, visitors will be able to stroll from bakery to bakery tasting the salty sugar treat at each of the participating artisans and then vote for their favourite.

La Fête des Vigneronnes, 9 June

This summer, 15 years after women were first accepted into the Confrérie des Vignerons (Brotherhood of Winegrowers), this event celebrates women in the wine industry. From the talented women who work as oenologists to the winegrowers, their great contributions to the nobility of the terroir in Romandy will be celebrated.

La Fête des Vigneronnes at the Café de Grancy invites event goers to meet twelve of the leading women in the local industry and to taste their wines. It is a chance to share in good conversation and sample wines from some of the best winemakers, accompanied by the cuisine of Fanny Sueur and Macheret cheeses.

The Ephemeral Tables – Lausanne's emblematic places, June - December

Lausanne à Table 2023 welcomes the return of the Tables Ephémères, where seven notable Chefs and seven emblematic locations will result in seven unique and exclusive dining experiences.

LEGRAM’s Catalan Chef Alba Farnos Viñals, will cook her fresh and innovative cuisine for four lucky diners at the top of Lausanne’s Cathedral’s belfy. Diners will be welcomed by the Cathedral’s night watch woman, Cassandre Berdoz who will share her experience and enthusiasm for this place through a historical visit.

Other dining locations for The Ephemeral Tables include a spot in the middle of the Tuilière stadium, the top floor of the Bel-Air Tower and the 15th century Château Saint-Maire, built for the bishops of Lausanne, which is opening its doors just for the lucky winners. The Chef for the night will be chef Rafaël Rodriguez, who is committed to sustainable gastronomy and was awarded a green star by The Michelin Guide in 2021.

There is a great variety of events on offer (some free and others ticketed) which will, without a doubt, ensure that all visitors to this city from now until December will leave with their taste buds well and truly tickled.
